Quarry tiles are a type of unglazed tile that is known for being extremely durable, with a very natural quality. Quarry tiles are made through a complicated extrusion process and fired at a temperature of over 1000° C. Clay is fed through a shredder and mixed with other material such as shale which makes the tile both very dense tile and gives it anti slip qualities. Then the process of extrusion, drying, setting and finally firing takes place.
